WSHA is proud to celebrate the successful launch of the Washington Hospital CMO Roundtable, engaging and 39 Chief Medical Officers from hospitals across the state to connect, share insights and advance physician leadership.

The interest and active input from the first session highlighted the forum’s value – where hospital CMOs can learn from each other and work together on key issues shaping health care.

Moving forward, the roundtable will meet through quarterly virtual sessions focused on timely topics identified by participants. Areas of focus include physician workforce and well-being, quality and patient safety, medical staff engagement, operational excellence, leadership development and emerging health care trends.

Building on this foundation, WSHA is excited to announce plans for the first Washington Hospital CMO Conference in June 2027, creating an opportunity for deeper learning, networking and collaboration among physician leaders from across the state.

To keep the roundtable aligned with member needs, participants can help shape future programming through a CMO Advisory Council, guiding topics, priorities and events.

WSHA is also developing a dedicated CMO member webpage to support the growing community. The site will serve as a central hub for roundtable resources, presentation materials, upcoming events, peer connections and opportunities for collaboration.

Thank you to the 39 CMOs who helped launch this exciting new community. Together, we are building a statewide network of physician leaders focused on quality, safety, innovation and excellence in care for Washington’s patients, workforce and communities. (Tina Seery)
