Disagreement can be a source of insight and innovation – or a source of stress and drama. In an upcoming April 15, 2026 event for WSHA members, Julia Minson, Professor of Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and a leading expert on the psychology of disagreement, will share insights from her new book, How to Disagree Better (Penguin Random House, March 2026). Drawing on decades of cutting-edge research, Professor Minson will offer concrete, evidence-based strategies for improving conversations across disagreement in the workplace, among family members, and in civic life. Participants will have the chance to immediately try out these techniques through interactive exercises, small-group debriefs, and a live Q&A with the author.
For those looking to deepen these skills, WHS will also offer The Art and Science of Constructive Disagreement, taught by Professor Minson and her co founder and colleague, Heather Sulejman. These programs provide structured practice, practical tools, and a community of peers committed to more productive conversations across differences.
Join us for this book event to meet the author and connect with colleagues. Please register using the link below and indicate whether you will attend in person or virtually. Seating is limited. Copies of Julia Minson’s new book will be provided to in-person attendees.
