The Washington State Health Care Authority recently released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Embedding Substance Use Disorder Support Services in Washington Emergency Departments. A letter of intent must be submitted by July 28 and bids are due Aug. 26.
Funding will support partnerships between Washington hospitals and local organizations that employ peer or other substance use disorder support professionals. These individuals will be embedded in hospital emergency departments.
Interested hospitals are encouraged to review the full RFQ for additional information and reach out to WSHA if support is needed for application completion.
Partnerships between hospitals and community organizations help expand access to substance use disorder care and connect patients with community-based services.
This funding would cover the administrative burden of establishing the partnership and onboarding an external partner into the hospital system, as well as training time for health care providers. (Brittany Weiner)
