Inmar withdrawing from Safe Medication Return and will cease Safe Medication Return operations on June 30, 2026

As of July 1, 2026, Inmar will no longer participate in Washington’s Safe Medication Return system. Inmar has notified their kiosk locations and participating manufacturers and plans to notify their mailer distributors by April 24. 

MED-Project will be the sole department-approved Safe Medication Return operator as of July 1, 2026. Locations can contact MED-Project at [email protected] or 833-MED-Project (833-633-7765) if they wish to continue to participate. 

Inmar mailers are preaddressed and prepaid. People can continue to use and return them. Inmar mailer distributors that would like to continue providing Safe Medication Return mailers can also contact MED-Project at [email protected] or 833-MED-Project. 

Covered manufacturers must continuously participate through a Safe Medication Return program operator without a break. Covered manufacturers participating through Inmar can contact MED-Project at [email protected] or 202-495-3131.
