The Bree Collaborative is seeking public feedback on two new draft reports and guidelines aimed at improving care across Washington – First Episode Psychosis and Surgical Optimization.

First Episode Psychosis Guidelines

Growing evidence shows that early detection and intervention can significantly improve outcomes for individuals experiencing psychosis, especially if it is a first episode. Bree’s draft guidelines focus on early identification and referral, expanding access to care and supporting implementation. Stakeholders, clinicians and community members are invited to help shape more responsive and effective care.

Surgical Optimization Guidelines

Your input is also requested on Bree’s draft Surgical Optimization: Glycemic Control and Anemia guidelines. Even mild anemia and poor blood sugar management can lead to longer hospital stays, higher complication rates and lower quality of recovery. With wide variation in practices across the state, the proposed framework aims to standardize care, reduce disparities and improve outcomes for nonpregnant adults undergoing major surgery.

The deadline for public comment feedback on both reports is Oct. 30.
