Nominations are open for two prestigious Washington State Hospital Association awards: the Ben Lindekugel Governance Excellence Award, recognizing outstanding board leadership, and the Community Health Leadership Award, celebrating innovative efforts to improve community health.
The Ben Lindekugel Governance Excellence Award was created in 2019 to recognize a board member or commissioner who displayed exemplary leadership or community service. Last year we were excited to honor Jefferson Healthcare Commissioner Jill Buhler Rienstra with this award. All WSHA members can make a nomination for a deserving board member or commissioner.

The Community Health Leadership Award recognizes a health care organization that is serving its community’s broader health needs in innovative and lasting ways. The award is selected by WSHA’s Hospital Governing Board Committee and was most recently given in 2025 to MultiCare Inland Northwest Hospitals for their Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Resource Team. All WSHA members can make a nomination.
