New, no‑cost naloxone education materials are now available to hospitals through a partnership between WSHA and the Washington State Health Care Authority’s Starts with One campaign. These materials support safer opioid prescribing by helping patients and families understand what naloxone is, why it matters and how to use it.

Due to high interest, the ordering deadline has been extended through February 28. Hospitals are encouraged to order materials while the extended window is available.

Available resources include:

  • A folding rack card explaining naloxone and how to access it
  • A postcard‑sized handout for patients receiving opioid prescriptions
  • A clinician table‑tent guide with key prescribing and safety talking points

These tools help normalize naloxone education, reduce stigma, and strengthen overdose‑prevention efforts across care settings. Materials are shipped directly to hospitals at no cost.

Please consider placing an order to support patient safety and reinforce best practices across your teams.
