WSHA has hired Brooke Evans, Ph.D., MSW, LCSW, CSAC, to guide hospitals on their journey of opioid stewardship. Brooke is a clinician, health services researcher and educator. Her expertise centers on the implementation of evidence-based health care innovations, behavioral health integration, substance use systems and services, and delivery systems.
Her knowledge and passion for health care quality improvement build on her 10+ years as a clinician, supervisor and director in behavioral health treatment settings in Hawaii. Most recently, Dr. Evans served as the assistant director for the council on health care economics and policy and as a research assistant with the Institute for Behavioral Health at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
Dr. Evans received her doctorate in social policy (behavioral health) from the Heller School at Brandeis University, her master’s in social work from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, and her bachelor’s degree in communications and political studies from Whitworth University.
