In our efforts to reduce travel expenses and make travel to WSHA meetings easy and productive, we encourage you to utilize the wide variety of public transportation options serving downtown Seattle. Getting to the WSHA’s new office is easy on a bus (King County Metro, Rapid Ride, Sound Transit Express) or a train (Link light rail or the Sounder Train). Most bus routes offer free Wi-Fi for the ride. Our building also has a parking garage if you are unable to take public transit.

On the bus:
If you’re coming from elsewhere in King County, you can take numerous Metro and Rapid Ride buses, which pass by the WSHA office. Click here to use King County’s trip planner to find the best route that will take you to our office. The closest stops are:
- Metro routes:
- 3rd between Madison and Marion (drops off in front of lobby)
- Marion between 2nd & 3rd (drops off in front of Plaza level)
- Rapid Ride routes:
- 3rd between Marion & Columbia (drops off 1 block south)
If you’re coming from Snohomish or Pierce County, you can take a Sound Transit bus to get to the WSHA office. Click here to use Sound Transit’s trip planner to fund the best route. The closest stops are:
- 4th Avenue between Columbia and Seneca
- 2nd Avenue between Seneca and Columbia
On the train:
- The Link Light Rail goes from Sea-Tac Airport to downtown Seattle. Get off at the University Street Station, which will drop you off two blocks north of our office. Click here to see schedules and find information about fares.
- The Sound Transit Sounder Train has a north line from Everett to Seattle, and a south line, from Lakewood to Seattle. Both will drop you off in Seattle at King Street Station, seven blocks south of our office, where you can walk or take a northbound Metro bus to our office. - North Train: Starts in Everett with stops in Mukilteo and Edmonds
- South Train: Starts in Lakewood with stops in South Tacoma, Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent and Tukwila
By car:
Note: Third Avenue is closed to car traffic during rush hours.
Traveling North on Interstate-5:
- Use the second from the right lane to take exit 164A for Dearborn Street toward James Street/Madison Street
- Keep left to continue toward Seventh Avenue
- Use the second from the right lane to follow signs for I-5 N/Vancouver B C/Madison Street/Convention Center.
- Keep right, follow signs for Madison Street/Convention Place
- Merge onto Seventh Avenue
- Turn left onto Madison Street
- The entrance to the garage will be on the left just after crossing Third Avenue
Traveling South on Interstate-5:
- Use the right lane to take exit 165A toward James Street
- Merge to the right onto Sixth Avenue
- Turn right onto Columbia Street
- Turn right onto Fourth Avenue
- Turn left onto Madison Street
- The entrance to the garage will be on the left just after crossing Third Avenue
Traveling West on I-90:
- Use the right two lanes to take exit 2C for I-5 N toward Vancouver B.C
- Keep right, follow signs for Madison Street/Convention Place
- Merge onto Seventh Avenue
- Turn left onto Madison Street
- The entrance to the garage will be on the left just after crossing Third Avenue
Traveling East from the Bainbridge Island or Vashon Ferry
- Exit the terminal
a. From Bainbridge Island terminal: Exit straight on Marion Street
b. From Bremerton terminal: Turn left on Alaskan Way, then turn right on Marion Street - Turn left on Fourth Avenue (Third Avenue is bus-only from 6-9am and 3-6:30pm)
- Turn left on Madison Street, and keep left (this is a one-way street)
- The entrance to the garage will be on your left after Third Avenue
Note: You can also walk onto the ferry, as it is a four-block uphill walk to WSHA’s office from the terminal.
