WSHA hosted two webcasts on July 26 detailing how the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) passed by Congress in 2015 fundamentally changes how physicians are paid. WSHA hosted two separate webcasts, one tailored to critical access hospitals and the second to larger hospitals and health systems. The webcasts featured Harold D. Miller — President and CEO of the Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform (CHQPR) and a nationally recognized expert — discussing the implications of MACRA for your hospital and your physicians. The webcasts provide guidance for hospitals as they begin to consider whether they may want to participate in eligible alternative payment systems. During the webcast, WSHA staff provided an update on WSHA’s current activities related to value based payment and talked about what resources WSHA has to offer for hospitals.
