WSHA supports state’s Medicaid global waiver application

Last week, the WSHA board voted to support the intent of the state’s Medicaid global waiver application to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). WSHA submitted a letter of support to CMS. In September, the state Health Care Authority (HCA) submitted an application seeking more flexibility and $3 billion in federal funds to transform Medicaid. WSHA is meeting regularly with the HCA on this work and will continue to involve and update members on the developments. The HCA now enters a formal negotiation process with CMS on its waiver application. (Chelene Whiteaker)
