WSHA legislative testimony: Feb. 22-26

WSHA is testifying on the following bills this week:

Monday, February 22:

  • Senate Health Care Committee:
    • HB 2450: Allowing critical access hospitals participating in the Washington rural health access preservation pilot to resume critical access hospital payment and licensure. WSHA testified in support.
    • SHB 2452: Creating the interstate medical licensure compact. WSHA testified in support.
    • SHB 2730: Concerning the prescription monitoring program. WSHA testified in support.
  • House Appropriations Committee
    • HB 2376: Making 2016 supplemental operating appropriations. WSHA will testify in support of mental health funding.

Tuesday, February 23:

  • House Health Care & Wellness Committee
    • SSB 6519: Expanding patient access to health services through telemedicine and establishing a collaborative for the advancement of telemedicine. WSHA will testify in support.
  • Senate Health Care Committee
    • HB 2350: Defining the administration of medication by medical assistants. WSHA will testify in support.

Wednesday, February 24

  • House Health Care & Wellness Committee
    • SSB 6445: Clarifying the role of physician assistants in the delivery of mental health services. WSHA will testify in support.
  • House Capital Budget Committee
    • HB 2380: Concerning the supplemental capital budget. WSHA may testify in support, if capital funding for mental health facilities is included.
