Many hospitals and health systems have encountered the issue of what to do with excess supplies, disposables, devices and medical equipment. For some Washington hospitals, buying and selling such supplies directly with each other and with hospitals across the country has been an efficient, simple way to save money in supply chain. As a result, they are recovering costs and reducing spend by thousands of dollars per month. In particular, smaller rural hospitals save an average of 40-50 percent on purchases.
These hospitals are using the online platform called H-Source. H-Source streamlines transactions handles all paperwork and provides robust accounting and reporting. The marketplace is private for vetted members only and membership is free.
H-Source is a WSHA industry partner. Learn more about them in the video below and visit H-Source at the WSHA & AWPHD Rural Hospital Leadership Conference June 23–26 in Chelan.
