WSHA will host the webinar “Student Nurse Apprenticeship Program- Model for investing in future nurses” from 10am-11am, Tuesday, Jan. 17 with Brittany Burke, DNP, RN, NEA-BC. Norton Healthcare’s Student Nurse Apprenticeship Program (SNAP) is the first prelicensure apprenticeship program in the United States. The program focuses on intentional investment in student nurses through a three-tiered culture, clinical, confidence model.
The webinar we will provide an overview of Norton Healthcare’s SNAP program, review Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) pre-licensure knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSAs), and discuss the importance of supporting apprenticeship programs for healthcare leaders.
Dr. Burke is Assistant Chief Learning Office at Norton Healthcare and Director of the Center for Nursing Practice, part of Norton Healthcare’s Institute for Education and Development. She provides strategic leadership through the SNAP program and provides transition to practice support for new graduate nurses through the “Plugged in to Nursing” podcast.
