WSHA hosted a one-hour webinar Feb. 23 to provide basic information and answer questions on Link4Health, the state’s effort to advance electronic exchange of clinical records and transform health care. This new program, sponsored by the Health Care Authority (HCA), is intended to provide real-time information exchange among providers caring for Medicaid patients.
Link4Health should support risk-based contracting approaches and more integrated provision of care. As of Feb. 1, 2017, the state will require provider organizations that contract with Medicaid managed care plans and have a certified electronic health record to participate in the program. This new initiative would also be a pathway to hospitals to receive additional meaningful use funds as it creates a means to meet Stage 2 meaningful use requirements.
