The Sentinel Network’s next round of data collection began Oct. 11, asking hospital leaders to make their workforce needs known to policymakers, planners and educators. An invitation to take the survey is sent directly to employers twice a year, and you can also take the survey online here. This round of data collection will close Nov. 17, unless the Network receives sufficient responses prior to that date.
Washington’s Sentinel Network is a collaboration of the state’s Workforce Board and the University of Washington’s Center for Health Workforce Studies and a program of Washington’s Health Workforce Council. Funding to initiate the Sentinel Network came from the Healthier Washington initiative, with ongoing support from Gov. Inslee’s office and the Washington Legislature. The information provided helped the state craft regulatory changes to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and invest in promising workforce pathways.
Submissions are kept confidential, and examples of topics included in the survey include:
- What are your current workforce experiences and concerns?
- What are examples of policy changes that would be beneficial for your organization?
- What health workforce challenges are you facing now compared to six months ago?
