Hospital and health system leadership are invited to join WSHA for the fourth annual Hospital Advocacy Days. Meetings will again be conducted virtually. Attendees will partner with WSHA staff to meet with state lawmakers to advocate for health care priorities and tell your hospital’s story. This is your chance to be a voice for your hospital, patients and community. I cannot overstate the impact of legislators hearing directly from hospital leadership within their districts.
Registration is available at wsha.org/advocacydays. We ask that you RSVP as soon as possible (and hold that date on your calendars) so that our team can schedule meetings with legislators. Meetings will be organized based on location:
- Monday, Jan. 24: Virtual legislator meetings for hospitals located in Central or Eastern Washington.
- Tuesday, Jan. 25: Virtual legislator meetings for hospitals located in SW Washington or on the Peninsula.
- Wednesday, Jan. 26: Virtual legislator meetings for hospitals located in NW Washington (north of King County).
- Thursday, Jan. 27 & Friday Jan. 28: Virtual legislator meetings for hospitals located in the Puget Sound region.
It’s my pleasure to announce that WSHA is also offering opportunities for member leadership to prepare to most-effectively advocate for their health care priorities. Virtual legislative briefings will be offered twice ahead of the main event. In the briefings, WSHA’s Government Affairs team will provide an overview of the state’s political landscape and top advocacy issues. We will also spend time talking about how to conduct a virtual legislative visit. You can select your preferred date/time option while registering.
WSHA will also host an hour-long Virtual Advocacy Bootcamp for member leadership who want to increase their advocacy skills.WSHA staff and lobbyists will help members shape their stories and prepare for legislative visits.
Please register online at wsha.org/advocacydays. Questions can be sent to me or Joanna Castellanos at joannac@wsha.org.
