Washington Hospital Services (WHS) would like to invite your hospital to attend the fourth-annual WHS Safety Days! This four-session event held each fall is meant to help reduce workplace injuries and illness and enhance workplace safety. Each week, WHS will host a one-hour Zoom meeting to share strategies, tips, best practices and information that should help you furnish a hazard-free workplace.
For registration information, please email Eric Gutzwiler.
Please save the following dates and times so you can be sure to join us!
- The Value of Safety – Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m.
- Why Accidents Happen – Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m.
- Incident Investigations – Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m.
- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions – Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m.
We will start this year with The Value of Safety. During this hour, participants will learn about Safety Leadership and Culture, plus a couple of tools to help improve both. WHS will cover perceptions, observations, hazard assessments, the power of R+ and have some fun!
Week two will be “Why Accidents Happen,” and WHS will discuss some of the things that lead to workplace injuries and illnesses. This week will build on the R+ information and include antecedents, behaviors and consequences.
The final two weeks will continue to build on the previous weeks as we cover the basics and some best practices to help document the information, analyze and preserve the scene, interview witnesses, determine root and contributing causes and implement effective and understood corrective actions.
These sessions are generally restricted to WHS members, but WHS wants to open it up this year to everyone, so please feel free to forward this to other staff members of your team that would benefit.
