The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) will begin the Medicaid redetermination process for clients upon expiration the of public health emergency – scheduled to expire January 11, 2023. Medicaid managed care, known as Apple Health, clients will be contacted by HCA to either validate continuing eligibility or assist in transition to other coverage. It is critical that HCA has current client contact information to avoid loss of coverage. Hospitals and providers are asked to encourage their Apple Health patients to update their contact information, particularly if they have had an address change since the beginning of the PHE.
