New free training for suicide prevention available for behavioral health providers

The Health Care Authority (HCA) is offering a new free suicide prevention training for behavioral health providers, as part of a grant through the Behavioral Health Institute at the University of Washington to develop a support plan for adults who have a suicide crisis. The support plan includes access to peer navigators and a tablet-based Jaspr Health app for individuals 25 and older. The training is open to community, clinical service providers and other systems serving adults that are at risk, and will include assessment of suicide risk, best practice interventions to ensure safety including lethal means safety, treatment of suicide risk and follow-up to ensure continuity of care. The training is free and meets state licensure requirements. Registration is available here.
