Improvements to Breastfeeding Hospital recognition program

January 28, 2016

The Department of Health (DOH) recently updated the Breastfeeding Friendly Washington Hospitals program to reflect feedback received from Washington State hospitals.

Supporting breastfeeding is an important part of ensuring newborns get a great start to a healthy life. Washington State hospital care teams do a lot to help mothers and their babies get established. The updates to the application process are around the documentation of skin-to-skin rates and aligning state standards with national standards.
