February 1 is the first implementation date for providers to share electronic health record (EHR) Medicaid patient data via the Health Care Authority Link4Health Clinical Data Repository (CDR). When fully implemented, the Link4Health CDR will allow providers to access Medicaid patient records from other providers and facilities, and provide more robust information on a patient’s health history and treatment needs.
HCA has issued a status update on the CDR, mainly focused on HCA’s work with EHR vendors. WSHA and the Washington State Medical Association have been in conversation with HCA about the need to clearly communicate with providers and vendors about the CDR, and how to comply with the CDR data reporting requirements. HCA will provide more detailed information in early February. (Zosia Stanley)
