The Washington Health Care Authority recently updated its policy and instructions for billing for monoclonal antibody treatment for Medicaid enrollees for COVID-19. As a way to prevent hospitalizations, WSHA is continuing to advocate for the expansion of monoclonal antibodies in community outpatient settings, including non-traditional, non-hospital settings.
The antibodies themselves are provided by the federal government and distributed by the Washington State Department of Health free of charge, but hospitals and providers may bill for administration costs. The updated instructions can be found here. (Andrew Busz, Andrewb@wsha.org)
