DOH extends deadline for EHR-PMP integration mandate to Sept. 1, 2021

The Department of Health (DOH) has announced a 9-month waiver of the mandate that hospitals and health care providers have an electronic health record platform that can fully integrate with the state’s prescription drug monitoring platform by Jan. 1, 2021. The new effective date for the mandate is Sept. 1, 2021. The mandate applies to non-critical access hospitals and provider groups with more than 10 prescribers. WSHA is currently engaged in workshops on rulemaking related to the mandate, which was created in 2019 under an omnibus opioid response bill. The waiver was granted in recognition of the ongoing demands on facilities as a result of COVID-19.
