CAH employees can use flex funds to sign up for WHS project management courses

April 3, 2024

Washington Hospital Services (WHS) has flex funds available for employees at critical access hospital (CAHs) who would like to take WHS project management courses. If you’re interested, please contact WSHA Safety and Quality Directoy Megan Herman at meganh@wsha.org about funding availability. In addition to flex funds, WHS also offers group discounts. Visit the WHS website for full details and to sign up for classes.

Participants will gain a solid understanding of foundational concepts, methodologies and best practices to streamline operations, boost efficiency and effectively execute projects. You can also earn Project Management Institute (PMI) credits to maintain or obtain PMI certification. WHS’s courses are designed for anyone leading health care projects or supporting project teams. No prior experience or training is required.

According to the PMI, the global economy will need 25 million new project professionals by 2030. Project Management is more than just understanding how to deliver a project on time, within scope and on budget. It also involves developing your power skills (communication, problem-solving, collaborative leadership and strategic thinking – AKA soft skills) or interpersonal skills. It’s clear that these skills are highly sought-after in today’s competitive job market, and having these skills not only opens doors to future opportunities but also contributes to improved performance in current roles.
