The U.S. Health Services and Resources Administration (HRSA) announced last week that a group of Washington’s frontier hospitals received a one-year grant for nearly $100,000 to develop a community-based, long-term care network. The grant is only available to rural hospitals, and Forks Community Hospital is the lead grantee. AWPHD and WSHA led the effort to pull the network together and pursue the grant.
The grant period is July 7, 2017 to May 31, 2018. At the end of this one-year development phase, the network will be eligible to apply for a three-year grant to maintain the network. In addition to Forks, other members of the network are:
- Willapa Harbor Hospital
- Morton General Hospital
- Columbia Basin Hospital
- North Valley Hospital
- Three Rivers Hospital
- Odessa Memorial Hospital
- Columbia County Health System
- Garfield County Memorial Hospital
- East Adams Rural Healthcare
