Poison center saves more than $18 million in health care costs

The Washington Poison Center (WAPC) is launching the third year of its Hospital Fair Share program, which enables hospitals to direct community benefit funds to the poison center to help sustain its core services. Because of the past support of its numerous hospital partners, the center has been able to expand its clinical and public education outreach significantly throughout Washington State. The year 2016 was a transformative year for the WAPC and it is estimated that it saved more than $18 million in health care costs. Read more from the WAPC. (Ashley Beil)
