There is still time to make nominations for WSHA’s 2023 awards, but the deadline for submissions for all awards is Thursday, Aug. 31. Make a nomination online now for the Joe Hopkins Memorial Award, Ben Lindekugel Governance Excellence Award and the Community Health Leadership Award. Winners for each award will be announced at the Annual Meeting Oct. 22-23 in Renton.
The oldest and most prestigious of WSHA’s awards is the Joe Hopkins Memorial Award, which is given each year as a lifetime achievement award to an individual who has made lasting contributions to our state’s health care landscape throughout their career. Only hospital administrators and board members are eligible to make nominations for this award.
The Ben Lindekugel Governance Excellence Award is given each year to an individual who has shown commitment to hospital governance and community service, as the late Ben Lindekugel (formerly the AWPHD executive director) dedicated much of his work to these areas. The Community Health Leadership Award is given each year to an organization whose work extends beyond the hospital walls to improve the health of the larger community, as hospitals are constantly becoming more prominent community partners for communal wellbeing. All WSHA members can make nominations for the Ben Lindekugel Governance Excellence Award and the Community Health Leadership Award.
