WSHA submits comments on pharmacy label draft rule

On June 12, WSHA submitted comments on a draft rule from the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission (PQAC). This draft rule would require dispensing facilities or dispensing practitioners to provide accessible labels for prescription medications. This includes both linguistically and visually accessible accommodation. While WSHA is supportive of the underlying intent of ensuring patient safety, we have concerns about the operational aspects of the current draft. These comments were developed in collaboration with WSHA’s Pharmacy Workgroup.
