Industry Partner Cordant Health Solutions is one of the only health care companies that not only offers innovative drug testing options, but also includes a pharmacy that specializes in complex management and dispensing of controlled substances. Cordant believes they need to play a part to help curb opioid addiction and overdose by offering a national prescription take-back program.
They have removed 68 pounds, or an estimated 61,800 pills from medicine cabinets across the country. Through their closed loop process they prevent thousands of pills from being dispensed that could be diverted or abused. And through their three Cordant pharmacies, they have dispensed naloxone to 400 patients. Their program is successful because Cordant works in partnership with clinicians to educate patients on the importance of this lifesaving drug.
