Opportunity to share feedback on Starts with One opioid misuse prevention materials

February 1, 2024

WSHA members are invited to participate in a brief interview to share feedback on Starts with One materials. These 15-minute sessions will inform the creation of future content and ensure it better meets providers’ needs. We welcome feedback from veterans of the materials and newcomers alike.

Please use this link to notify us of your interest in participating in a brief interview, and a member of our team will be in touch to schedule it.

Starts with One is an educational campaign led by the Washington State Health Care Authority and supported by WSHA. The campaign created resources on preventing opioid misuse for providers, patients and their families. The provider toolkit includes handouts for patients (wallet cards and rack cards) that promote safe storage and safe disposal of medications and alternative pain management options, an opioid prescribing best practices guide and video vignettes that model positive conversations between providers and patients on patient-centric pain management options.

These toolkits have already been utilized by 69 Washington hospitals, and all hospitals are encouraged to take advantage of this excellent resource.
