Get ready for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day – April 30, 2022
Opioid misuse continues to be a serious national public health issue with nearly 71,000 drug overdose deaths in 2019 involved an opioid. Most people who misuse prescription drugs get them from family, friends and/or acquaintances. One key comprehensive strategy to reduce opioid misuse is to support national and state efforts in reducing opioid misuse.
WSHA is a committed partner in the Washington State Opioid Response Plan and is collaborating with the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) on opioid stewardship. As part of this partnership, we are offering a webinar from 12 p.m.–1 p.m., April 20, 2022 to learn how the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day campaign works. The HCA will share materials that hospitals and health care facilities can customize and shape to promote the event in your communities, as well as how to gain access to additional campaign messaging and materials in the future.
