WSHA Opioid Stewardship: Prescription Monitoring Program Data Enhancements

This year, WA hospitals providing insight, recommendations and data elements that would support and continue the continuous quality improvement trajectory in equitable, data-driven outcomes.

WSHA is eager to engage and share these data updates in a more comprehensive data-driven and non-punitive quality improvement framework. Enhancements includes the addition of safe prescribing to acute benzo and sedative patients, including age-based populations; drug strength filter to look at MME per day; individual prescriber report visual tool with all acute scripts and which were within and above guidelines. And, to reduce data entry burden on hospital resources, a new prescriber list coming from hospital claims data.
