OUD Stories of Recovery

November 20, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The Washington State Hospital Association and Public Health – Seattle & King County are hosting a webinar to provide a platform for patients to share their own personal experiences with medications and treatment for opioid use disorder. It’s important for all hospitals and emergency departments to promote hope and recovery for patients vulnerable to stigma and hesitant to seek help.  This event is designed for service staff, providers and administrators who want to increase their awareness and understanding of how medications for opioid use disorder can help empower patients to begin their recovery journey.

Webinar attendees will:

  • Understand the pivotal role of the hospital and EDs in engaging patients in recovery
  • Develop insights into what makes an encounter safe and welcoming for patients experiencing opioid use disorder
  • Develop insights on how unconscious bias may result in stigmatizing behavior and decrease trust between patients and the health system
  • Learn about additional resources for providers and waiver opportunities for prescribing MOUD
