On June 22, the Department of Health filed the Rule-making Order to adopt proposed changes to chapter 246-455 WAC, Hospital patient discharge information reporting, under Washington State Register 22-13-187. One new requirement is to report detailed disability data. During this informational webinar, we will review the required data elements and facilitate a roundtable discussion for participants to share how they are developing workflows to collect patient self-reported disabilities. Time will be available for Q&A and attendees are encouraged to share their own approaches for training staff, capturing and reporting disability data. Additionally, the WSHA data team will review how to retrieve your Data Validation report to review missing data. We will also present a draft mapping of the new CHARS race data to OMB categories for consideration.
