HB1272 CHARS Demographic Data Reporting Final Rules Overview and Implementation Support

On June 22, the Department of Health filed the Rule-making Order to adopt proposed changes to chapter 246-455 WAC, Hospital patient discharge information reporting, under Washington State Register 22-13-187. During this informational webinar, WSHA staff will:
- Review the final rules and demographic data categories that all hospitals will be required to collect and report beginning January, 2023
- Review the timeline for compliance, as well as upcoming dates for eligible hospitals to apply for a waiver or grant funding
- Provide next steps and checklist for internal audit, working with EHR vendors and training staff
- Gather input from participants regarding where additional support from WSHA is needed
