Diagnostic Excellence Webinar

In the last decade, diagnostic errors are the leading category of paid malpractice claims for US Hospitals, reaching about 30% or an estimated cumulative cost expected in the $50-100 billion range. Furthermore, it is anticipated that 40,000-80,000 hospital deaths will occur, and 12 million additional people will be affected by diagnostic errors each year. Given the prevalence and impacts of diagnostic errors, healthcare leaders can join WSHA to address them as part of their quality improvement and patient safety programs.

The Northwest Safety and Quality Partnership is working to improve outcomes related to diagnostic error by bringing focus to Diagnostic Excellence as a quality measure. We are kicking off a webinar series March 23, 2021 from 1100 to 1200pm to build awareness of the challenges as well as introduce a national provider education series on the topic. The audience for this series is CMO, Department heads, quality leaders and leaders from the multidisciplinary care teams.
