Building and Sustaining Effective Patient and Family Partnerships with Diverse Populations

Building and Sustaining Effective Patient and Family Partnerships with Diverse Populations Workshop
Many organizations have created mechanisms like Patient and Family Advisory Councils to integrate the patient/family voice into efforts to improve care. Health systems want to work effectively to reduce disparities and create equitable systems of care for all populations especially given the gaps laid bare during COVID for BIPOC populations. How can a PFAC help hospitals address equity goals when its membership doesn’t represent a broad spectrum of the population?
- Do you have a passion about creating new partnerships that can help address health equity issues?
- Are you seeking to improve representation of underserved communities to join you in improving care?
- Have you wished there were practical ideas that can be implemented in this challenging health care environment?
- Do you want to seek the counsel of trusted community organizations and individuals to address the disparities yet struggle to take a first step?
If you answered yes to any of the questions above, consider registering to attend Building and Sustaining Effective Patient and Family Partnerships with Diverse Populations on October 21 at 11:30 am – 1pm PT. This 90-minute workshop provides practical strategies for diversifying PFAC membership and shares best practices for building authentic partnerships that are inclusive of the communities served. Explore what systems can help identify, invite, encourage, and support underrepresented communities to influence the systems of care beyond a PFAC. Learn how other organizations have created strong and sustained partnerships to make meaningful changes and improvement.
