Mental Health Advance Directives: Changes to State Law and Implementation of Best Practices
November 30, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
MHADs are an advance care planning tool for people to specify their preferences regarding behavioral health treatment in the event they are incapable to make their own treatment decisions, such as in the event of an acute crisis related to mental health or substance use. ESSB 5370 (2021), which passed earlier this year, makes several changes to the MHAD law. (See WSHA’s Bulletin for more information on the changes to the law, effective July 25, 2021.) This webinar will provide education to hospitals about the role of MHADs as an advance care planning tool, changes to the MHAD law, and implementation resources and best practices.
