– Substance Use Disorder Care in Rural Settings: Reducing Barriers to Care #3 of 3 part series

November 8, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

The Association of Washington Public Hospital Districts (AWPHD) and the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) are working together to offer virtual education events to hospitals in our rural communities who are providing services to patients with substance use disorders. Opioid-related deaths continue to rise across Washington state, and with the rapid spread of fentanyl in other drugs, the challenges faced by care providers will likely continue.

This fall, AWPHD and WSHA will be offering a 3-part webinar series: Substance Use Disorder Care in Rural Settings: Reducing Barriers to Care. This rural-focused series will offer education on how stigma creates barriers for patients to receive care, strategies for implementing evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing and access to medications for opioid use disorder, and spotlight work being done in rural communities across Washington.
