Washington hospitals are working to improve the safety of patients through an initiative with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) called Partnership for Patients. WSHA is honored to be selected to support this work. We are working to improve care in areas that are important to clinicians and patients. Hospitals in Washington, Alaska, and Oregon have signed up to participate in this project though WSHA.
Working with CMS in the first round of Partnership for Patients, we saved 23,000 patients from harm and reduced $336 million in health care spending.
