Join WSHA on from 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.13 for our next opioid harm prevention webinar, “Naloxone Distribution in Hospitals: A critical strategy for preventing overdose deaths.” This webinar will review the requirements for distribution under 2SSB 5195, discuss common barriers and solutions to those challenges, and will include a panel discussion with hospital leaders who can share their lessons learned and innovative solutions they identified to increase access to naloxone. Learn more and register for this event today! Please note that while WSHA periodically hosts learning events open to the public, this session is only open to hospital employees.
This education event is being hosted in the lead up to International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), held annually on August 31. IOAD is an opportunity to remember the lives lost to overdose, support the loved ones left behind and provide education to the community on overdose prevention. If your hospital is planning an IOAD event and would like to be featured in a future newsletter, please contact Brittany Weiner at brittanyw@wsha.org. (Brittany Weiner)
