WSHA, DOH seek hospital feedback on certification process for long-term civil commitment services

WSHA and the Department of Health (DOH) are seeking feedback from hospitals about the Behavioral Health Agency (BHA) regulations, under Chapter 246-341 WAC, in relation to the provision of 90- and 180-day civil commitment services. DOH is proposing to apply the existing certification requirements for short-term commitments to long-term commitments, as part of rulemaking work related to implementing HB 1394. Stakeholder workshops took place on Aug. 12 and 19, and WSHA is now reviewing draft language. We encourage members to provide feedback.
