The Health Resources and Services Administration(HRSA) granted WSHA the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health Capacity Grant dispersing approximately $800,000 over four years to address perinatal mental health and care coordination with birthing hospitals across the state.
The goal of this program is to ensure birthing hospitals have the ability to screen perinatal patients for mental health conditions and to coordinate care as needed. Hospitals are key partners in coordinating care with patients, ambulatory providers and community organizations. WSHA is looking for people interested in perinatal mental health to join the grant implementation task force.
The money will support hospitals through training and technical assistance and will also bring in subject matter experts to help hospitals with implementation of the initiative. (Jenica Sandall)
