We couldn’t be more excited that our 84th Annual Member Meeting kicks off one week from today at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront! Our theme this year is “Seamless, Compassionate Care,” and we’re excited to welcome leaders and staff from all our member hospitals for two days of learning and networking. If you haven’t registered, it’s not too late, and there are still rooms available at WSHA’s preferred hotels in Seattle. Click here to register and for information about the event, including parking details.

The general sessions kick off at 10:30 a.m. on October 13 with a session by Dr. Damon Tweedy, author of the book Black Man in the White Coat. The first day will also include a session with former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy, who opened up in his book, A Common Struggle, about his own struggles with mental health and addiction.

The second day of our meeting will include a session by Dr. Lee Hood — who, with his colleagues, developed the DNA gene sequencer and synthesizer — on how scientific wellness will transform health care. The meeting will conclude with the presentation of our annual awards for achievements in health care quality, leadership and community impact in our state.
