WMC warns of scam phone calls

The Washington Medical Commission (WMC) issued a warning to providers about scammers pretending to be commission staff. The scammers are calling doctors and claiming that doctors are being investigated for drug trafficking and must stop practicing medicine immediately. WMC does not make such calls and does not communicate disciplinary information over the phone. WMC also does not ask for money or make threats. If you receive a suspicious call, do not send personal information or money, or accept that your license has been suspended.
