Whidbey General Hospital officially made the switch to new name WhidbeyHealth June 13, and the health system celebrated the change with an unveiling of its new signage in front of the medical center. Outgoing Board President Anne Tarrant spoke briefly about the history of the original hospital. Tarrant also recognized the significance of several people who were present to help with the unveiling, including 98-year-old Jean Sherman, whose children were born at the first Coupeville birthing facility operated by Polly Harpole, RN, and for whom one of the first hospital guilds was named.
