WSHA would like to welcome Washington State’s psychiatric hospitals Western State Hospital and Eastern State Hospital as members in 2016. Both hospitals are accredited by the Joint Commission (TJC) and certified by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Western State Hospital is an inpatient psychiatric hospital with more than 800 beds and 1,800 employees. It is one of the largest psychiatric hospitals west of the Mississippi River, and Ron Adler serves as the hospital’s CEO. Western State Hospital is located in Lakewood, seven miles south of Tacoma.
