Webinar: Naloxone distribution, opioid harm prevention and remembering lives lost

July 31, 2024

Join WSHA Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 12-1 p.m. for our next Opioid Harm Prevention webinar: Naloxone Distribution in Hospitals: A Critical Strategy for Preventing Overdose Deaths.

Register here.

The drug naloxone can save someone overdosing on opioids, and hospitals are now required by law to give prepackaged naloxone to at-risk individuals.

What are common barriers to distributions? How can hospitals raise awareness for overdose prevention? What are the expectations outlined in the new law? Our panel of hospital leaders will dig into these questions and more.

This event leads up to International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), held annually on Aug. 31. International Overdose Awareness Day is an opportunity to remember lives lost, support the loved ones left behind and educate the community on overdose prevention. If your hospital is planning an IOAD event and would like to be featured in a WSHA newsletter, contact Brittany Weiner at Brittanyw@wsha.org.

Please note this webinar is only open to hospital employees. (Brittany Weiner)
