Webinar: ‘Alternative to WA State Trust Act’

August 5, 2021

Many employees are just starting to hear about the Washington payroll tax and they are looking for options, which are limited at this time. WHIT has heard that employees are frustrated with the few individual LTC plans available with significant limitations to the plans. The one individual plan still available requires a minimum age of 40, a minimum premium of $2000 a year and a 30+ page application that has a 17-40 percent declination rate.

Employers are having a challenging time finding a product that is available to their employees (an employer with more than 50 percent female population cannot obtain a quote from some carriers), obtaining a quote from carriers in a timely manner, enrolling the plan by August to make the state deadline of Nov. 1, 2021 and managing the payroll deductions with reconciliation.

The WHIT program is designed for the health care industry (large and small employers) by providing

  • Product for male and female employees.
  • Guarantee issue so no one is declined.
  • Employer association rates.
  • Direct bill to employees so employers can avoid setting up payroll deductions.
  • LTC Provider Network Discount for employees and family members – regardless if they a LTC plan.

Time is running out and August is the last month to enroll in a plan to have an effective date of  Nov. 1, 2021, to meet the state deadline.

The WHIT program is a straight-forward process that was designed to provide an outstanding benefit to employees with no administration to HR.

  1. Employer opts into the WHIT plan.
  2. Employer emails communications to employees during August.
  3. Employee uses online enrollment.
  4. Employees receive direct bill for a 10/1/21 effective date.
  5. Join our last introduction webinar at 11 a.m., Aug. 11.
